My Pregnancy: Week 27

Baby's now the size of a head of cauliflower!
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended.  She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers.  With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now.  While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning--with a lot of medical help--if she were to be born now.  Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on.  Each episode usually only lasts a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Well, the good news is that I still feel really good.  I feel so good in fact that I have started accepting more orders for my Etsy shop.  Orders are starting to come in quickly so I guess I know what I will be focusing on for the next several weeks.  When I was pregnant with Leila, I was busily working on nursery decor at this point in my pregnancy, but since I've decided to keep the same theme, I guess I'll channel my nesting urges to sewing instead!

Labor Day Picnic

Since everyone had a three day weekend because of Labor Day, my family all got together and went up Provo Canyon to Big Springs park and had a picnic.  We ate, played some games, and just relaxed. It was a beautiful day and the perfect way to bid adieu to summer.

Random August Happenings

August 10-We ate our Sunday dinner in my Mom's backyard to enjoy the wonderful summer weather.  Leila also enjoyed a little bit of roll with her jelly.

August 15-We went up to Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake for Jason's summer company party.  They had BBQ and lots of fun activities.  We couldn't get Leila away from this bubble station.  She would dance to the music they were playing and had a blast trying out all of the different bubble wands they had.

August 19-One morning, I got up and going and thought it was odd that Leila hadn't come barreling out of her room yet.  I walked in and found her reading to herself.  She may have a hard time sitting still, but she does enjoy her books!

August 24-While I was trying to get ready one day, Leila found multiple ways to entertain herself in my bathroom: from snuggling in a laundry basket with her iPad to trying on Mommy's swimsuit and Daddy's boots.  I love this crazy goober!!
