Well, I am officially exhausted and yet I can't blame it completely on the pregnancy since this has been a dousy of a week. Last Friday night, Jason and I spent the night at a hotel as part of his birthday celebrations. Unfortunately for him, as soon as we got to the room, I crashed. For almost 11 hours. This is right about when the exhaustion hit when I was pregnant with Leila too.
But on top of regular pregnancy tiredness, I also went to New York with my Mom and Annie this week so I'm vacation-tired too. Especially considering the fact that I only got 2 hours of sleep last night at the hotel before we had to leave for the airport at oh-dark-thirty in the morning. Despite getting some naps in on the plane, I am still feeling very zombie-esque today.
Today was also the first time I've felt really nauseous. I think it had something to do with the lack of sleep and the taxi ride, but by the time we got to the airport I was not doing well. Thankfully it cleared up once I was able to sit for a while.
The hardest part of being on this trip with my family was keeping them from finding out why I was so tired and needed to eat more frequently. Annie even launched an entire conversation about me having another kid over dinner one night and I had to choose my words very, very carefully.
One symptom that hasn't come on yet that I had with my last pregnancy is the extreme thirst I had for like 5 days or so. I'm hoping that this means I won't have gestational diabetes with this pregnancy but I won't know that for sure for quite some time yet.
In the meantime, I guess I'll just try and rest as much as I possibly can with such a busy, active 2 1/2 year old running around my feet all the time. Good thing I've got a very understanding, sympathetic husband!
